Call for Special Issues

Call for Special Issues

The Annals of Leisure Research is always keen to receive proposals for Special Issues. Such proposals should include a one page ‘call for proposals’ that outlines the nature of the proposed issue; why it is necessary, and how it has the potential to add to and challenge existing knowledge. The proposal should also include potential areas for authors to consider. Alongside this, potential guest editors should provide an indication of their preference for the timing of publication of the Special Issue and details of their editorial and reviewing experience (please note that a lack of editorial experience does not necessarily degrade the chances of a proposal being accepted but may require additional help from the editorial team of the journal). Guest editors should note that the same review processes and criteria of quality and originality apply to articles in Special Issues as to regular issue articles.  Special Issue articles should in this regard fulfil all the normal requirements of any individual Annals of Leisure Research article, and be of relevance to a wide international and multi-disciplinary leisure studies readership. If anyone has any queries regarding a proposal for a Special Issue or wishes to submit a proposal please contact the journal editor (neil.carr@otago.ac.nz).
